The Alberto Lleras Dam, also known as the Guavio Dam, is a rock-fill embankment dam on the Guavio River near Guavio, Colombia. The dam was built in 1989[3] and is currently one of the tallest dams in the world, with a height of 250 m (820 ft).[4] The dam has an installed hydroelectric generation capacity of 1,150 MW, a crest length of 390 m (1,280 ft),[5] and a structural volume of 17,100,000 m3 (600,000,000 cu ft).[5]
